    bullet point  Call Schedule

The call schedule is flexible and created by the residents themselves; it is not a rigid "q4" system.

The inpatient shifts are divided into two teams:

    1) A morning team from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (two senior residents and two first year residents round on the in-patient service and complete a maximum of seven admissions.)

    2) A night float team from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (one senior resident and one first year resident cross over and complete a maximum of seven admissions.)

Usually during the third year of training, a resident will have one to two months of call which is taken from home.

An exercise room and a lounge equipped with a plasma TV, computers, coffee machine and large sofas are available for use by residents only and are located near the call rooms.
