Interests:
Are you in a special track or focus during your residency?
I am interested in underserved care, wound care, and integrative medicine.

Why did you choose UPMC Shadyside Family Medicine Residency Program? Why Pittsburgh?
I chose UPMC Shadyside FMR because the residents made me feel at home. The residents are supportive of one-another, fun loving, hardworking and have a great relationship with the faculty. The family medicine residents get along with the other in-house residency programs, which is very important to me. The faculty is deeply involved in the community and all serve as great mentors for the residents. UPMC Shadyside uses a multi-disciplinary team approach and has a phenomenal reputation of training great well-rounded family doctors!

Iíve always enjoyed visiting friends and family in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh has a rich and diverse culture and there is something to do for all interests. Growing up in a suburb outside Los Angeles, spending 5 years in San Diego, I knew I wanted to train in a residency program close to a city. Shadyside is the perfect location for me as it is not as congested as some of the other major metropolitan areas, yet still has everything to offer. I look forward to exploring the city and surrounding areas during my time here.

What are your goals while here in the residency program? How will this prepare you to be an excellent physician?
My goals are to take advantage of the vast resources this program has to offer. I plan to be involved in community outreach programs as giving back to the community has always been a major part of my life. The diverse patient population and wide variety of training environments will help prepare me to successfully practice in any setting. I know that UPMC Shadyside will both challenge and guide me in strengthening my medical knowledge and clinical skills to become the best well-rounded family doctor I can aspire to be.

Do you have any special interests outside of the residency program?
Eating is a big deal in my life - I love cooking and trying cuisines from around the world. While I really enjoy exploring and traveling with friends and family, I secretly like being a homebody binge watching TV shows every now and then. I hope to get a dog of my own someday, but for now I am happy to be the adopted aunt and spoiler of all my friendsí pups.
