Barry Coutinho, M.B.B.S., is Clinical Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine, Director of the Inpatient Teaching Service, and Chairman of the Integration Education Committee.

Dr. Coutinho received his degree from Guy's Hospital, London, obtaining the prize in cardiology. He completed his residency training at St. George's Hospital, London. Then gained experience in general practice before coming to Pittsburgh. He completed family medicine residency training at UPMC Shadyside. Dr. Coutinho served as chief resident before joining the faculty in 1995. He is board-certified and has special interests in dermatology and cardiology.

In his spare time, he gives classical piano concerts for medical charities and enjoys watching and playing sports with his kids.
