Dr. Mantella is a Pittsburgh native who directs Musculoskeletal Education for the residency. He completed his Family Medicine Residency and Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at UPMC Shadyside. Residents work directly with Dr. Mantella during a resident run weekly injection clinic during their Orthopedics Rotation and he is involved in lectures and precepting throughout the year for both the residency and fellowship programs.
Dr. Mantella enjoys teaching and provides a unique perspective for residents thinking about concentrating their clinical practice towards sports medicine upon graduation. He also practices locally in a private practice setting with a heavy concentration towards sports medicine.
