Are you in a special track or focus during your residency?

I am not in any specific track. My interests include Pediatrics, non-OB Woman’s Health, and Behavioral Health.

Why did you choose UPMC Shadyside Family Medicine Residency Program?  Why Pittsburgh?

UPMC Shadyside aligned with what I was seeking in a residency. I wanted a program with a lot of resources and opportunities for me to explore my specific interests within family medicine. After interviewing here, meeting the other residents, and learning more about the program this quickly became my top choice.  Everyone I met was so welcoming and friendly, I knew that I would be well-supported here. As someone from Pittsburgh, I am also excited to do my residency in my hometown. It has always been a goal of mine to live in Shadyside.

What are your goals while here in the residency program?  How will this prepare you to be an excellent physician?

My primary goal is to learn and to develop the skills needed to be the best family medicine physician I can be. I want to graduate residency feeling comfortable and competent to practice full-scope family medicine. I hope to serve the Pittsburgh community after residency, and I think UPMC Shadyside will prepare me for my future patient population!

Do you have any special interests outside of the residency?

Some of my hobbies include skiing, scuba diving, traveling, and spending time with my family now that I am closer to home. More recently, I have enjoyed spending time with the kitten I adopted when I started residency!
