Dr. Stephanie Ballard and Team Receive Platinum Award!

University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Health Informatics students Jenny Diaz-Serrano and Stephanie Ballard, PharmD and teammates Ruoting Liu, PhD and Maeve Woeltje, MD received the Platinum Award in the Pitt-UPMC Mini Datathon: Exploring Bias in an Open-Source Critical Care Medicine Risk Model.  The Platinum Award is given for an outstanding submission that went to great lengths to understand sources of potential biases in the available data. The Mini Datathon was hosted February 27-28, 2024, by the University of Pittsburgh, UPMC, and MIT Laboratory for Computational Physiology, and supported by the NIH-funded CHoRUS Network.  Dr. Ballard’s team received the Platinum Award for their efforts to identify biases in a GOSSIS in-hospital mortality prediction dataset.  Congratulations to Dr. Ballard and the Team!
