Are you in a special track or focus during your residency?

I am in the Osteopathic Recognition (OR) track. My interests are in addiction medicine and sports medicine.

Why did you choose UPMC Shadyside Family Medicine Residency Program?  Why Pittsburgh?

During my third year of medical school, I did a four-week rotation at UPMC Shadyside. Every single day, I witnessed how dedicated the faculty were in creating an incredibly supportive teaching environment. This entire program is filled with intelligent and compassionate people, all with different backgrounds and interests in medicine. They are so passionate about Family Medicine, and it was truly inspiring to be a part of the team. After my rotation here, I knew this was the right field for me and I am honored to be a part of this residency program for the next three years!

Pittsburgh embodies the big city vibes but with the charm of a small town. Everyone I have met in this city is so welcoming and down to earth. I am very excited to continue exploring the city and make it my new home!

What are your goals while here in the residency program?  How will this prepare you to be an excellent physician?

I believe UPMC Shadyside will help me become the mature, knowledgeable, and compassionate physician I always wanted to be. This program will give me the unique opportunity to experience medicine in a both urban and community setting. My goal is to strengthen my clinical skills during residency and become proficient in treating a wide array of patients.

Do you have any special interests outside of the residency?

Outside of residency, I enjoy mixology, trying new restaurants, watching sports and spending time with friends and family. I recently picked up baking and currently on a mission to bake the perfect muffin!
