How do I Apply?

Applications are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). More information is available through the ERAS Web Page.

Does your program sponsor visas?

Yes, we offer both H-1B and J-1 sponsorship.  For our program to offer H-1B sponsorship, the MD candidate is required to have graduated from a medical school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).  For the DO candidate, they must have graduated from an osteopathic medical school accredited by the Commission on Osteopathic of College Accreditation (COCA). Also, candidates must have passed either USMLE Step 3 or COMLEX Level 3 by no later than the date of the NRMP Match. A candidate who earns a medical degree from a medical school other than one accredited by the LCME or COCA and who requires immigration sponsorship will be sponsored for J-1 visa status.

What are the requirements for IMGs to be considered for an interview?

You must be ECFMG certified and have all the necessary documentation to complete your ERAS file and graduate from medical school within the past 2 years. Incomplete ERAS files will not be reviewed.

What if I graduated more than two years ago and have been inactive clinical practice?

Applicants who graduate more than two years ago and have been active in a primary care clinical practice will be considered.

When can I submit my application to ERAS?

Applications will be accepted and reviewed beginning Wednesday, September 27 through Sunday, December 1, 2024. Any applications received after December 1 will not be reviewed.

What is the Minimum Score Required for USMLE Steps 1 and 2?

Preference will be given to applicants who have passed Steps 1 and 2 by the second attempt.  Historically, applicants who have a 3-digit score of 250 and above have been most successful.

Are you required to have had prior US clinical experience? If so, what type?

Applicants who have had prior clinical training in the US or have graduated from a school using US-style training have been most successful.

What percentage of residents in your program are international medical graduates?

8%

How many first-year positions are available for 2023?

There will be twelve positions available with four being Osteopathic Recognized (OR) positions.

How are residents selected?

Through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Main Match.

How will I know if I can expect to be contacted for an interview?

All applicants who have been selected to interview will receive an invitation via email from the GME Senior Department Manager by Monday, December 2, 2024.

Do you offer IMGs externships or observership experiences?

Unfortunately, we do not.
